Si è giunti alla formazione di un collettivo perché i tentativi di rappresentanza studentesca mediante la consulta non sono riusciti in tutti questi anni a rappresentare i veri interessi degli studenti poiché sono organi istituzionali che non hanno alcun minimo d'influenza nelle decisioni del consiglio d'istituto e del consiglio accademico. La loro funzione infatti, aldilà delle persone facenti parte, è quella di negoziare alcune piccole questioni e non contrastare i problemi strutturali dell'istruzione che si risolvono solo attraverso la mobilitazione di massa degli studenti.
Il collettivo punta proprio a questo: mobilitazione da parte degli studenti.
Dobbiamo riappropriarci di tutti quei diritti che quotidianamente ci vengono negati , cominciando dal diritto allo studio che non è affatto pubblico e gratuito come vorremmo, dobbiamo stravolgere questo sistema d'istruzione che viene controllata dall'alto, ovvero da una classe politica che imponendoci un modello sociale riscrive a modo proprio la storia e attacca i diritti conquistati durante duri anni di lotta da parte di studenti and workers.
