Political Science laboratories continue to self-training, organized by students for students. We invite you to attend the upcoming workshop to be held between the University of Milan, Pavia and Trento. The underlying theme of the seminar is "state of exception", a category developed by Carl Schmitt and taken up by the Italian philosopher Giorgio Agamben , and we consider it essential to take a critical look at the Maghreb but also addressed the latest developments in domestic politics.

"Lo stato di eccezione è il dispositivo che deve, in ultima istanza, articolare e tenere insieme i due aspetti della macchina giuridico-politica, istituendo una soglia di indecidibilità fra anomia e nomos, fra vita e diritto, fra auctoritas e potestas. We do not live in Germany Weimar or Mubarak in Egypt. But certainly there is little "normal" society in which we live. The management of post-earthquake in the Abruzzi or waste cycle in Campania, the transformation of migration to deal with emergencies with internment camps, the construction of large works, the TAV Expo, the armed forces in the streets, the G8 summit in Genoa, the internalization of the enemy, Ultra by terrorist, all these situations reflect a suspension of the rule of law. The analysis of the category of "state of exception" may thus contribute to better frame the contexts and forms of emergency management.
